  • PTCs as Resettable Current Fuses

    Ceramic PTC thermistors are often used as re-settable current fuses as they offer several benefits over conventional fuses. Over-voltage or over-current conditions cause the PTC thermistor to “switch” from a low resistance to a high resistance state, effectively limiting (switching off) the through current. The PTC acts as a current fuse and protects the electronic circuit, electrical appliance or series load.

    Often simpler to incorporate in a circuit than a current fuse, PTC fuses also don’t need replacing and thus help to minimise service calls when nuisance tripping is caused by various transient surges.

  • ATC Semitec IP68 Waterproof Platinum Sensors

    For applications where a high IP rating is required, our ATC Semitec IP68 Pt100 (or Pt500/Pt1000) sensors ensure that water ingress will not be a problem.

    Moulded in TPE, the sensing portion is 5mm dia. x 20mm long and is available in single or double-insulated formats. The double-insulated versions offer a dielectric strength up to 3.75kV.

    • Suitable for continuous use from -50/+110°C, they can also be used to 125°C for periods of up to 3000 hours.
    • Utilising one of our platinum RTD elements, we supply Pt100, Pt500 or Pt1000 class B sensors with an accuracy of ±0.15K.
    • 4 wire Class A platinum sensors are available offering an even higher degree of accuracy.

    A 2.1mm diameter stepped tip design in 316 stainless housing with brass mounting collar, ideal for water temperature sensing.

  • ATC Semitec SKTY Sensors & Linear PTC Elements

    The SKTY series linear PTC sensing elements from ATC Semitec offer neat replacements for the once common KTY temperature sensors.

    Our SKTY sensor elements are mounted on a small 3mm x 6mm p.c.b. and are available with R25 values of 1kohm and 2kohm with ±1% tolerances.

    SKTYs can also be supplied as IP68 rated moulded sensors (see above) with single or double-insulated leads.  Other custom probe formats also available as required.

    Fast response M5 stud sensor in brass or PPS, ideal for use with gas boilers.

    The NTC thermistor is housed within the screw thread portion in order to optimise the thermal response.

  • ATC Semitec IP68 Waterproof Temperature Sensors

    Where an even higher water-proof integrity is required, our ATC Semitec IP68 sensors ensure that water ingress will not be a problem. Available in either single or double-insulated formats, the double-insulated versions offer an isolation of up to 3.75kV. By utilising any of our AP, AT, ET, NT or SP series thermistors, a very wide range of resistances and B values can be offered with temperature accuracies as little as ±0.15°C.

     

     

  • ATC Semitec SP Interchangeable NTC Thermistors

    SP series NTC thermistors offer accuracy as small as ±0.1°C for clinical sensor applications. These interchangeable or R-T curve-matched thermistors guarantee a very high accuracy over a wide temperature range, e.g. 0~70°C and are also available in micro miniature packages such as our ATC Semitec SPMM series.

    R25 values vary from 1kohms to 100kohms and can be used from -50°C to +150°C.

    The SPMM series is a range of extremely small temperature sensors in which we can offer NTC thermistors with precision interchangeability. The sensing portion (as small as 0.60mm dia. x 6mm long) allows it to be easily incorporated with other sensors in medical instruments and other multi-sensing applications. Utilising our series of miniature interchangeable NTC’s, a wide range of resistance values, RT curves and accuracies can be offered.
