As electric battery technologies develop allowing them to discharge batteries quicker and give larger range, the challenge remains to develop an effective cooling system which will protect the battery. The faster a battery discharges the more heat the battery generates and without an effective coolant system to enable the battery to remain working within its operating range – the battery will simply degrade, stop working or at worse lead to catastrophic fires etc.

Inline Coolant Temperature SensorFlow-through temperature sensors provide highly accurate, space-saving temperature measurement for both automotive and industrial applications. Installed within the inlet, the sensor can quickly and accurately measure temperature coolant, therefore maintaining optimal operation of batteries and other components.
ATC Semitec BTS5Screw-fit Coolant Temperature SensorWith a traditional push fit or ¼” BSPG screw-threaded boss, this coolant temperature sensor ensures very fast thermal response with Tc ≤1s. Directly immersed into the coolant flow, the temperature is measured by an NTC within the thin-wall stainless steel sensing tip.
