Heraeus MR Series Platinum Sensor Elements

Heraeus MR 828 series temperature sensors are basically thin-film platinum elements housed within a round ceramic body.  This circular design can aid sensor assembly and can eliminate the need for further filling materials normally required when fitting thin-film elements into metal probe housings.  The round format also means these Pt100 (or Pt1000) elements are non-directional when used in airflow sensing or other similar applications.

It is also possible to have two platinum sensing elements built into these ceramic tubes (known as a “duplex” version) to enable users to have separate temperature control and monitoring circuits where necessary.  The twin element design can also offer built-in element redundancy when required.

There are two probe diameters available MR828 (2.8mm) and MR845 (4.5mm) respectively with Pt100, Pt500 and Pt1000 options depending on the size of the ceramic probe chosen.  The duplex versions are only presently available with Pt100 and Pt1000 sensing elements.
