PEPI FCP Thermal Cut-outs

The PEPI FCP (FC-P2D) is a snap-action thermal control designed as a cost-effective over-temperature solution for the protection of electric motors, transformers and heating elements.  Its small plastic case design requires no further insulation and it can fit neatly into the smallest of spaces.

In an over-temperature (or over-current) condition, the factory calibrated bimetallic blade operates at its set-point and opens a set of contacts to stop the flow of current in the product its protecting.  On cooling down, the bimetal blade snaps back to its original position and re-makes the electrical circuit.

PEPI FCPs are available with a range of pre-set calibrations from 50°C to 130°C in 5K steps.  The thermal differential (the difference between the opening and closing temperatures) is approximately 30% of the opening set-point allowing plenty of time to notice the product’s fault condition.

The PEPI FCP has a heat-resistant PBT plastic case and it is supplied with integral 100mm long, 20AWG XLPE lead-wires.  The lead-wires are sealed into the case using an epoxy resin and so the FCP is dust and moisture resistant.
